Hi, I’m Rishaan.
I’m curious about how machines think.
And about a lot of other things.
I’m a high school student researching how language models work, building software people can use, and occasionally putting my laptop away to play the bansuri or take a photograph.
Researching language-model reasoning at Stanford CiCL, working on ECG models at SafeBeat Rx, and organizing LaunchHacks.

What does a model’s internal representation actually do?
a question I keep coming back toArtificial Unintelligence? Operation Mismatch Limits Circuits’ Use of Shared Representational Structure
Seven cyclic task families. 42 directed transfer pairs in Qwen2.5-7B. Matching the donor’s signed operation improved causal transfer despite low neuron overlap.
Language models / 2026All in the Head? A Controlled Study of Component Contributions in Few-Shot NLP
A controlled study of classification-head design with fixed encoder representations, isolating aggregation, attention, and lexical augmentation.
Language models / 2025LAMBDA: Assessing Few-Shot Lexical Analogical Reasoning in Language Models
A 3,000-example lexical analogy benchmark spanning synonymy, antonymy, and derivational morphology. Nine models evaluated alongside a 300-example human baseline.
Things I’ve built
WasteWizard
A little help figuring out which bin. On-device waste classification and local disposal guidance.
2023-presentLaunchHacks
A global community of 5,600+ high schoolers who like making things. Six hackathons and counting.
2021-presentCongressWizard
Helping congressional offices make sense of news, legislation, and everything in between.

A few other things
I also play the bansuri.
I’ve studied Hindustani classical bamboo flute since 2018. I like the room for improvisation within a raga, and I’ve learned to make a bansuri from bamboo, too.
